Connect supported SolaX equipment through a local controller for monitoring.
The connection described here uses a local controller to communicate with supported SolaX equipment. It does not use a SolaX Cloud account.
The SolaX device guide lists the supported inverter and storage families, their available connections and their control capabilities.
Depending on the equipment, the connection uses built-in Ethernet or a serial RS485 interface. An Ethernet-to-RS485 adapter provides a network connection for serial equipment; in that setup, configure the adapter's IP address rather than the inverter's IP address.
The COM port on a SolaX G4 inverter is not an Ethernet port. Do not connect it to an Ethernet switch. Follow the model-specific pin mapping in the device guide.
| Item | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Exact inverter or storage model | Determines which connection instructions apply |
| Local network address | Identifies the inverter or the Ethernet-to-RS485 adapter, depending on the connection |
| Serial settings and Modbus address | Must match the inverter when using RS485 |
| Individual addresses for multiple inverters | Allows the controller to identify each inverter on a shared RS485 bus |
For multi-inverter wiring, serial settings, the adapter connection diagram and termination instructions, use the detailed device guide. Monitoring and power control are separate capabilities: the guide identifies which control functions are available for each listed family.
